Board games are for wranglin’, rustling’ robbin’, and arrestin’,

Western Legends is a board game for 1-6 players set in a mythical part of the Old West. Each player is randomly assigned 2 historical characters to pick from, selecting one. The players then acquire points to achieve victory. Players can be wanted criminals, law enforcers, or neutral. Points are acquired via poker matches, arresting or robbing other players, purchasing points in the cabaret, gold mining and other methods. Money earned can be used to upgrade weapons, mining equipment, weapons, poker skills, and so forth.

A recent game featured 5 players: me, Jenny L, Eric L, Jessica T, and Chris V.

Early in the game Eric tried to rob me, Billy The Kid. Eric with the fancy outfit and me with a blue base. He failed. He should have brought better weapons.

Jenny was hoping that some Belgian ale would help her game play.

Bohdi was more interested in resting than keeping track of the strangers in her house.

At the end, Billy the Kid (blue) prevailed. Chris (red) was the only law abiding person in the entire game and he had his hands full trying to keep me, Jenny, and Jessica in check. At the end Eric was neutral, but he could have gone either way. You can see the stash of gold mining nuggets in the background.
