Experimental Berry Slump

I started with this recipe

I added more berries. Cut the sugar in half. Replaced half of the white flour with stone ground cornmeal to add some crunch.

Here are the berries cooking and releasing their pectin
Final product. The dumplings didn’t rise as much as I thought they would. The entire top is covered with dumplings but some of them are berry covered.

But the taste is what I was looking for.
