Disc 4

Rockin good versions of Bertha and Me and My Uncle Zooey this show. I’ve been closely studying Me and My Uncle for a few months now and I’m amazed that there is no shortage of ideas from Jerry and Phil in how to play this tune.

Chinatown Shuffle features a nice chordal piano solo by Pigpen. China Cat Sunflower then features Bob doing a chordal guitar solo then followed by some single line stuff from Jerry. Very cool.

Next Time You See Me has a Pigpen solo, a Jerry solo. Then another Pigpen solo. I thought they would start trading 4’s, but they didn’t.

Playing in the Band is pretty good. Nice length. Nice jams.

I don’t remember ever hearing Sing Me Back Home. It sounds like an old folk song. I don’t know if it is,

Not Fade Away has an organ in the mix. Not sure I’ve heard that before. This is overall a really nice arrangement.
