Book Review-Everyday Matters

An inspirational little book that proves that you don’t have to travel to exotic locales to be a great writer nor a great visual artist. You have all of the source material that you need right at home.

He describes in his book his own artistic journey. In order to learn to draw, he first had to learn how to see. In order to draw you must learn to see, and not express the world in pre-remembered symbols. Just like learning to write. You want to capture the specifics of that scene, that memory, that idea–and find out how to differentiate it from others.

Musicians that play with others spend more time listening than they do playing.

It’s all the same.
