Subscriber Marianne D mentioned that she was moving into a smaller place and was constrained for storage of important papers. This prompted me to come up with a 1 page format for a yearlong diary.
This entire format fits onto an A5 page (approximately a US letter sheet, 8 1/2 x 11 inches, folded in half)

- I have 4 lines going across the page. Each line is divided into thirds. Each third represents one month of the year
- I have a small amount of space between each line for notes
- Key events are recorded with a short vertical line, with the day of the month written above, followed by a very short summary of the event.
- I try to have the dates approximately correct on a timeline of the month.
This format provides conciseness at the expense of detail. But if you just want a high level memory keeping tool, this might work. Or, it might inspire you to create your own format.
