2024 World Tour
The first stop on the World Tour was the Kenton Street Fair on August 18, 2024. Promotions started early. Each of the band members became journeyman publicists and shared some information about the upcoming event on their respective social media pages. Artwork developed by Scott (I think). The street fair was excited to feature a “Psychedelic Jug Band” (Dave pointed out privately that since the band didn’t have a jug player, it was actually a psychedelic jug-less band). But we didn’t tell anyone, except that clever eyed attendees would notice it on the right hand hand photo (Psychedelic Jug Band, sans Jug.)
In case you never heard of the term Jug Band, you can read more here.
On August 18, the weather was perfect and legions of fans showed up to the 30 minute set. Here are a few fan photos. Photographers were Eric, Jenny, Me, Marianne, and I think Kirsten’s husband.

Our promoter (Scott) created a Youtube channel with sound clips recorded by our fans. The Youtube channel contains all of the videos together, in one playlist. As an alternative, below are each of the video clips individually, so that you can quickly find your favorite.

What’s Next?
Nothing is yet confirmed, but we are working on several additional opportunities. Stay tuned for updates!
Also, Bruce W., mentioned above, is inspired enough to join the Remotes. He’s been practicing with us the past couple of weeks. Perhaps a band name change is in order?
History of The Remotes
Early in the Pandemic (early to mid 2020), two guys that met during local jam sessions decided to limit their social circles and meet up in person to make music. Although the band didn’t exist at that time, Allen and Scott soon started calling themselves The Pandemic Brothers.
A couple years later, Dave joined. Scott had met Dave at a local guitar repair shop.
In parallel, Allen and Scott reached out to Bob, who they had known prior to the pandemic, and Bob showed up with his harmonica and vocals when his work schedule permitted.
In summer 2023, Allen, Scott, Dave, Bob, and percussionist Brent played music at a local neighborhood block party. The band was then called Pandemic Porch (because the usual practice spot was on the back porch at Scott’s house.) Here are some photos of that event from Jessica T and Jenny L.
Fast forward to late 2023. No one wanted to hear the word “Pandemic” ever again! Face masks and hand sanitizer were pushed to the rear of the cabinets underneath everyone’s sink. The band was also developing a unique sound. A logo was created by an online artist, and The Remotes were born.
Brent has since been occupied with other projects, but we are hopeful for his eventual return.
