In addition to just enjoying the roundup, I decided to create some artistic memories along the way. This is our third year in a row attending the roundup. Pendleton has so many visitors during this time that it pays to plan ahead. We’ve already booked a hotel for 2025!
Here’s what is included this post

My Photos From The Roundup
Last year I rented some costly camera equipment and used the big lens to capture scenes that I wouldn’t have otherwise captured. This year, I decided on a more minimalist approach and used only a small fixed lens camera or my phone.

I’d never purposefully made a travel journal before, so I decided to make one. I brought along some basic art supplies (Wanderings brand travelers notebook, A5 slim papers, small watercolor set, fountain pen, pocket knife, and a glue stick). The idea was to create some memories using only these tools, and what I found along the way. Watercolor and pen sketches, collage, and essays were the result. Early on I discovered that I didn’t have very good paper for watercolor.

Subscribers Scott N and Denise K passed along some photos. Scott N provided some pictures from our Friday night hootenanny/jam session at his campground. Denise K found us in some crowd scenes from the live feed she was watching on the Cowboy Channel TV stream. Where’s my royalty check? You can imagine this is a game of Where’s Waldo and try to find us in the pictures.
